The timetable has just been released by DigitalUK for the Crystal Palace transmitter. This will be achieved over two stages.
First stage will be on the 4th April 2012 at 12:00am when BBC2 analogue will be switch off and cease. To continue watching BBC2, it will only be available on digital freeview, so a digital box
will be required for older TV's if your TV is not digital or freeview.
During the day there will be interruptions to the 4 remaining analogue channels and ITV analogue will move to the number 2 slot on television unless the analogues are retuned.
All digital Televisions, set top boxes and digital recorders will need retuning in order to continue receive the digital channels after 6:00am on the 4th April 2012.
Second Stage is planned for the 18 April 2012 when the final 3 analogue channels: BBC1, ITV and channel 4 will be switch off and cease from Crystal Palace at midnight and Channel 5 will be
switched off and cease from Croydon relay transmitter by 9:00am.
All analogue only TV's will no longer work unless converted to digital and analogue videos will no longer record but will still play
tapes.
Again, digital TV's, set top boxes and digital recorders will all need retuning in order to continue receive the digital channels after 6:00am on the 18th April 2012.
There will be messages on screen leading up to DSO (Digital SwitchOver) and all retuning must be done after each stage is completed.
Any problems on dealing with the switchover, give us a call for advise.
This retuning information above is only for Digital Freeview, BT Vision and Top Up TV. It does not effect Sky, Freesat or Virgin Media customers
